The True Witness

“I can of mine own do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgments is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which He witnesseth of me is true”; “and the Father Himself which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me”; ”how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him”; ”for there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one” (John 5:30-32, 37; Acts 10:38; 1 John 5:7, 8)

Recently there have been reports of Pastors who have departed from the faith using very unscriptural and extra-Biblical teachings and some sort of pseudo-spiritual sense (more like nonsense) that has rocked the modern Christian world. Three such reports out of Africa, one from Sweden, and at least one from here in the United States; they are as follows: (1) A pastor instructed his congregation to eat grass from the field…the congregation did so and became sick and nauseated, (2) another pastor told his female members to not wear undergarments (bras and panties) so that Christ could freely “enter” into them and they could be saved; they did so as well, (3) yet another pastor told a mother that her teenage daughter was possessed by an demonic spirit in here private parts, and that he had to have sex with her to cast out the demon; both the mother and daughter complied, still another pastor said that his semen was “holy milk” and gave instructions to both men and women in his church to receive his sperm through oral sex in order to be Spirit filled, and finally a pastor who founded a large mega-church stood and told his congregation that he was “converting” to Roman Catholicism, which devastated his church. Behold, the great falling away is in full swing!

There are three disturbing things that all these reports have in common; first, all these pastors were indeed pastors of churches and thus had a following or congregants; secondly, they all began and continued teaching clearly out of the own deceived and/or depraved mind, and three, some if not all of their followers believed them and acted on what they were instructed to do. The third reason stated here, to me is the most shocking, and yet the one that is the most ease to explain. Why would a rational thinking, spiritually minded adult or young person willing and so easily be misled by anyone? Why did they believe what was and is clearly not Biblical or even sensible by human perception? The answer is, they simply did not know the Word of God for themselves, so the Holy Spirit and their reborn human spirit could not warn, guide, protect or even reason with their mind to question, reject and not commit their bodies to such an act of nonsense. This makes knowing, believing, trusting and relying on the Word of God for yourself paramount in your overall development as a child/saint/servant of God.

In the above referenced Scriptures Jesus, the Apostles Peter and John let us know where God clearly and squarely stands on this subject. Let me say the end from the beginning, “God will not leave Himself without a witness, even if He must bear witness Himself”! This is exactly what Jesus said to the religious leaders of His day and we can say today…any servant, man or woman of God, whether they go by any title or no, whether they have a small church or a mega-church, that servant…if he or she is true, and called, and anointed by God will be vindicated by God, God Himself by the Holy Ghost will bear witness of that servant, and that servant will go about doing good and healing (“soteria” Greek, meaning -  “to be saved, healed and delivered’) all who are oppressed by the devil, why? For God (in the person of the Holy Spirit) is with them.

The True Witness to the man/woman, the ministry and the message is God, the Father bearing witness…”this is my beloved son/daughter/servant in whom I am well pleased, hear him/her/them”, God, the Son (the Word of God)…”the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs (miracles and wonders) following”, and God, the Holy Ghost…Acts 10:38!

A New Beginning!

I've been silent for far to long. Been dealing with a lot of personal, family, financial, fellowship (many and various), employment and residency issues. Since 2009 my family and I have experienced the lost of most all our family/home possessions, various family members and friends have passed away or we've lost contact. We have moved 4 times in 4 years, changing residence (4), jobs (to many to count between my wife and I), and schools (for my wife, daughter and I). We've lost, spent, and seemly wasted so much money that its incalculable.

We praise God for those family and friends who have stood by our side! Through these hard times if it were not for them, near and far, in the free world and those behind prison walls, in the North, South, East and West, some on social media, many old friends and some new ones we would have surely perished financially and been homeless, hungry and destitute. God is good, and He blessed us with these precious saints, family and friends over the years unbeknownst to us that would be there through the storm and the rain.

The ministry has suffered too. I virtually stop teaching and preaching for well over a year. In latter part of 2012 I preached/taught at a church in Georgia about 3 times and since moving to Texas my family and I haven't attended one church service, Bible study, etc. I've been involved in two online/conference call Bible stduies, but generally Sunday is spent at home with family. To be quite frank, I don't miss church and all of the religious hoopla and hypocrisy.

I say, a New Beginning, but by no means am I saying we are out of the woods yet. Beginning October 1 I will be doing the radio broadcast again on Blog Talk Radio. Because of how I work I will have to get up at 2:30 A.M. to do a 3 A.M. show, then prepare for work. I'm up most nights anyway; can't sleep. I have became a volunteer in the Texas prison system also; prison ministry is a passion I thank God I receieved and still have. This blog post is my first in a very long time, but hopefully this will pick up too.

Pray for this old preacher!

So, here's to a New Beginning!

On the Doorsteps of Laodicea

With the passing of many of the old Church Fathers in 2012 are we as the Church Unversial on the doorsteps of the apostate church described in Revelation 3?

Laodicea was described by Christ as being lukewarm, and thus useless to used by Him, even though it would seem to have its act together as far as the world and superficial Christians could see.

They said of themselves, we are rich, increased in goods and had need of nothing. He, whose eyesight is far better than ours said, they were miserable, poor, blind and naked. When the Church and the believer looks good to or in the world, our condition before God is far worse.

As God calls some and allows others to graduate to glory this writer submits that we are on the edge of a Christian, a Church, and a Christianity that will seem spiritual, be well off financially, be lacking evangelization, will be powerfully  influence by the world system, and lastly be judged along with the Antichrist and his False Prophet.

The admonishment of the old Apostle still rings true...come out from her and be separate! Amen.

A New Year?

If the predictions of the Mayan culture are correct, we have less than 20 days before the end of the world. While I do not agree or believe in that prediction, we are nevertheless totally not ready for the end of the world, nor ready for the beginning of a New Year.

As a Christian, husband, father and minister I have admittedly been "miss in action" for the closing months of 2012. Confess is good for the soul, goes an old saying, so I confess I have fallen short, way short of being all of who I am and "Whose" I am. I let things, people and circumstances rule and super-rule over me most of 2012 and have come to this the closing month of the year reflecting. What does 2013 hold for me, only time will tell but am I ready even for it?

I begin this my first blog under this account in this time of reflection and repentance. I can and must do better. With the help of the Lord and staying faithful to His Word my "new year" can be different, better and more prosperous than 2012 and all the years previous. Out with the old, in with the new! This begins today, days before 1/1/2013 in and with me.
